Morgan Sindall Cairngorms Project

Renico
Industrial Engraving

When Morgan Sindall asked Renico if we could engrave some steel with a commemorative text and logo, we never thought we would be embarking on a very special piece of historic work.

As part of SSEN’s project in the Cairngorms National Park, which would see 12km of overhead line and 46 transmission towers being removed between the villages of Boat of Garten and Nethy Bridge to improve the National Park and its surrounding scenery. These towers will be replaced by underground cabling. The main contractor Morgan Sindall, when removing the last transmission tower, cut the tower into individual small sections as momentos. These old mild steel sections, were brought to Renico (Cairngorms mud and all), and we were asked to create something beautiful from them.

Using the customers logos and text, Renico produced a diamond from the rough. I think you will agree the end product looked amazing and a piece of history of the highlands. Huge thanks to Morgan Sindall for including us in their project and we cannot wait to see what our next challenge will be.
